DJEMBE DRUM

A djembe is a traditional West African goblet-shaped drum, skillfully hand-carved from a single piece of hardwood and topped with a tightly stretched animal skin, usually goat. Known for its broad range of tones—deep bass, mid-range tones, and sharp slaps—it is played with bare hands and used in a wide variety of cultural, ceremonial, and musical settings.
